What's New at Checkr: Summer Product Highlights [2023]

This summer, we made a number of enhancements to the candidate experience, verifications, and the Checkr Dashboard. Watch the webinar to learn more about these updates—along with a preview into what we’re working on later this quarter, including I-9 verification.

Simplify your onboarding process with our digital I-9 solution, directly from your Checkr Dashboard. Fulfilling Form I-9 through Checkr can improve form accuracy and reduce redundant workstreams. We’ll be rolling this out to customers over the next several weeks. Learn more.

If a state’s Clean Slate implementation results in data limitations, such as if individual county courthouses temporarily become inaccessible, all background check providers will experience the same challenges. To help minimize any delays for you as you run background checks in an impacted state, Checkr now provides a Skip Inaccessible States & Counties feature. This feature lets you unblock candidates and prevent hiring delays, then run full or partial Follow-Up Reports when all jurisdictions become accessible. Learn more.

Global Watchlist is now available as a standalone search and as an add-on for packages. Healthcare organizations can fulfill OIG and SAM search requirements by setting up a subscription to Global Watchlist.

Understand your candidates’ driving history and license status with easy-to-review MVR reports—now available for candidates in Puerto Rico.

We have a new, faster way to verify candidates’ employment history in the US. When candidates opt to directly log into their payroll provider within their background check application, Checkr can verify their employment in minutes—saving you costly pass-through fees. This is now available for all customers and supports more than one previous employer.

Checkr offers document review as a free service for all customers when candidates run into exceptions. You now have the flexibility to choose whether to opt in or out of this service. Document collection is turned on by default; if you’d like to disable this feature for your account, please reach out to Customer Support.

Background check completion emails now provide more clarity around the type of background check requested. When a candidate completes a standalone health, drug, or MVR check, we’ll provide that additional context in that notification.

Candidates can now review and edit the information they entered in their background check application before submitting. This can help reduce errors and speed up report completion.

Candidates can check their report status, download copies of their reports, check for exceptions, and more directly via the Chatbot in the help center. This provides candidates with another easy, secure touchpoint to stay up to date.

Now you can order drug tests, occupational health screenings, and credit checks by requesting them in your Checkr dashboard. Visit your packages page to get started, and learn more about customizing packages in the Help Center.

You can now ask for up to 3 personal and/or professional references from candidates directly from the Checkr Dashboard when you create or edit a package.
