SAN FRANCISCO (August 10, 2021)Checkr, the leading technology company in the background check industry, has been named to the Forbes 2021 Cloud 100 for the fourth year in a row. The Forbes Cloud 100 is the definitive ranking of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world, published by Forbes in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures.

For the sixth straight year, the Forbes Cloud 100 reviews submissions from hundreds of cloud startups and private companies each year. The Cloud 100 evaluation process involved ranking companies across four factors: market leadership (35%), estimated valuation (30%), operating metrics (20%), and people & culture (15%). For market leadership, the Cloud 100 enlists the help of a judging panel of 34 public cloud company CEOs who assist in evaluating and ranking their private company peers.

This award underscores Checkr’s rapid growth and innovation with recent highlights including:

  • Launching Checkr Assess. Checkr Assess is a powerful digital assistant that helps employers see which candidates are eligible for employment based on the company’s specific hiring criteria. With Assess, customers hire more fairly by pre-selecting the charges that matter to each one of their open roles and de-emphasize the ones that don’t.
  • Winning Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas Award. Because of its fair chance hiring criteria, Check Assess won Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas Award in the AI and Data Category. These annual awards honor businesses, policies, projects, and concepts that are actively engaging and deeply committed to pursuing innovation to solve health and climate crises, social injustice, or economic inequality.
  • Debuting the Checkr expungement solution. Checkr launched an end-to-end solution for job candidates to complete expungements and clear their criminal records. This solution, the first of its kind in the industry, removes the complexities and high legal fees typically associated with expungements and unlocks barriers to meaningful employment. This Checkr service will automate the manual process of petitioning a local courthouse to clear someone’s criminal record under local judicial procedures.

“The companies of the Cloud 100 list represent the best and brightest emerging companies in the cloud sector,” said Alex Konrad, senior editor at Forbes. “Every year, it gets more difficult to make this list — meaning even more elite company for those who do. Congratulations to each of the 2021 Cloud 100 honorees and to our 20 Rising Stars up-and-comers poised to join their ranks.”

The Forbes 2021 Cloud 100 and 20 Rising Stars lists are published online at www.forbes.com/cloud100. Highlights of the list appear in the September 2021 issue of Forbes magazine.
