This year marks the fifth time Checkr has earned a spot on the Forbes Cloud 100 list.

San Francisco, August 9, 2022 – Checkr is honored to be named to the Forbes 2022 Cloud 100 at #16, the definitive ranking of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world. This year marks the fifth time Checkr has placed on the Cloud 100 list, published by Forbes in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures.

In its seventh year, the Cloud 100 reviews submissions from hundreds of cloud startups and private companies each year. The Cloud 100 evaluation process involved ranking companies across four factors: market leadership, estimated valuation, operating metrics, and people & culture.

“The companies of the Cloud 100 list represent the best and brightest private companies in this fast-growing sector,” said Alex Konrad, senior editor at Forbes. “Every year, it gets more difficult to make this list — meaning even more elite company for those who do. Congratulations to each of the 2022 Cloud 100 honorees.”

"Checkr is grateful to be recognized as part of Forbes 2022 Cloud 100," said Checkr Founder and CEO, Daniel Yanisse. "This recognition validates our investment in products that solve for our customers most challenging problems, and our team’s dedication to building a fairer future for all.”

The award highlights the growth of Checkr’s impact over the last year. Most notably:

Acquisitions of ModoHR and GoodHire

In February 2022, Checkr acquired Canadian-based background check company ModoHR Technologies Inc., expanding its global footprint and growing capabilities in Canada. In April 2022, Checkr acquired GoodHire, a leader in background checks for small businesses. The Checkr acquisition of GoodHire is a critical part of Checkr’s expansion strategy to bring speed and fairness to market for small-to-medium sized businesses.

Launch of Checkr.org

Checkr launched its first philanthropic arm, Checkr.org, in 2021 to mobilize the most effective solutions and actualize the mission of fair chance hiring. Checkr.org’s charge is to break down barriers and build bridges to equal opportunity in the future of work.

Checkr Expungements, an end-to-end solution for job candidates to complete expungements and clear their criminal records, was recognized in 2022 by Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas Award in both the software and corporate social responsibility categories.

Dedication to customer-centricity

Checkr simplifies the traditionally complex background check process for tens of thousands of customers, bringing speed and ease to the hiring process. Checkr’s commitment to reliability, automation, and innovation is fueled by an ongoing responsibility to provide the best hiring solution for customers.

Hear from Sean Miller, vice president of operations at Angi, on how Checkr has helped his team automate the background check process and increase efficiency in their hiring and onboarding processes, enabling them to run 4,500 background checks weekly here.

“The public markets may be in turmoil, but the private valuations of the Cloud 100 continue to rise. All of the 2022 Cloud 100 honorees, again, have reached the $1 billion valuation milestone, and the average Cloud 100 valuation has skyrocketed to $7.4 billion,” said Mary D’Onofrio, partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. “Despite the market correction in 2022, our confidence in the cloud economy continues to grow—today over 70% of the 2022 Cloud 100 Honorees have reached or exceeded $100 million in annual recurring revenue making them cloud Centaurs. An additional 10% of the list is expected to hit this milestone by the end of the year, furthering our conviction that this years’ honorees truly represent the best cloud companies globally.”

Checkr is a mission-driven company devoted to bringing fairness and transparency to the hiring process. It's exciting to be recognized on the Cloud 100 amongst the top cloud-based companies in the world. This year, the Checkr team continues to focus on building the people infrastructure for the future of work, empowering customers and their candidates to thrive in a rapidly evolving hiring landscape.
