Checkr & COVID-19: How We’re Getting People Back to Work

In the last month, the world has changed in an unprecedented fashion. The impact of COVID-19 has been widespread and is affecting our community in ways we never thought were possible.

Many businesses across the country, including Checkr customers, are stepping up and providing essential services to those staying at home. We’re humbled to be able to help them hire and meet their increased demand during this crucial time.

Our team has been working closely with our customers to give them the resources and tools they need to respond to the changing crisis. During this time, we are seeing courts across the country closing their offices to further prevent the spread of COVID-19. While courts that use electronic record systems will operate normally, those that require in-person record retrieval can expect more significant delays to process background checks.

As a technology-first company, we’ve been able to respond to this situation quickly and have rolled out a background check package tailored specifically to the COVID-19 changes. The COVID-19 Continuity Package allows our customers to unblock 100% of their qualified candidates so they can continue to hire during this crisis. With this package, we’re staying up to date in real-time and monitoring a list of courts that are currently open. We’ll continue to run reports in the counties that are still open, so you have access to the most comprehensive available data. If you’re looking to hire talent during this time, please contact us for more information, and we can get you up and running.

Several of our customers are already using the COVID-19 Continuity Package, including Delivery Drivers Inc., the last mile recruiting and HR partner for Walmart, to provide important jobs and help support local businesses and communities. We are inspired by their efforts and the workers who are out on the frontlines every day, delivering food, opening up access to medicine and supplies, and helping create a sense of normality amidst all of the uncertainty for millions of Americans. The customers that are hiring are also working with us to help create new job opportunities for those who have lost livelihoods due to the economic impacts of COVID-19.

In addition to supporting our customers during this time, we are also prioritizing the health and wellness of our employees. As of March 5th, all of our employees have been working remotely and practicing social distancing. We are fortunate to have strong infrastructure in place, and all teams are fully set up for virtual communications and operations.

While the last few weeks have been difficult for all of us, it’s more important than ever that we get people back to work. Whether you’re hiring 100,000 or 100 people, let’s work together to create new opportunities and build a safety net for those impacted by this crisis. To learn more, please visit
