Drive better business outcomes through fairer hiring practices

What is fair chance hiring?

Fair chance hiring is the practice of basing employment decisions on a candidate’s qualifications  and eligibility for a role, rather than automatic disqualification due to an arrest or conviction history.

By engaging in fair chance hiring, employers can find a pool of qualified talent with a wide range of lived experiences that ultimately leads to stronger business outcomes.

Catalyst Apprenticeship

A 12-month earn-and-learn program that provides job training and formal learning programs to create career pathways for those with an arrest or conviction history. Hosted by Checkr in partnership with other employers, this program aims to bring justice-impacted individuals into the workforce with support for hiring and training.

Reentry Simulation

Take a moment to walk in the shoes of someone leaving prison and reentering society. This thought-provoking experience will both enlighten and challenge your perceptions around justice-impacted individuals and the obstacles they tackle while settling into life post-incarceration.

Fair Reviewer Certificate

Checkr Academy–our free learning hub—offers an hour-long module that teaches HR professionals how to comply with EEOC standards when assessing background checks, best practices for implementing fair assessments, and more.

Volunteering

Checkr supports individuals reentering society through many programs with our community partners. These programs include in-person volunteering at various correctional facilities to provide coaching and tutoring, mock employment interviews, job fairs, and business pitch bootcamps.
