Checkr, Inc., the leading HR technology company powering the future of work, announced today it has added Michele O’Connor, chief accounting officer at Veeva Systems, to its Board of Directors.
“Michele has incredible experience helping Veeva grow from a few hundred people to thousands and from a private company to one of the most successful public software companies,” said Checkr CEO Daniel Yanisse. “In addition to her passion for our mission and helping more job seekers access work, Michele cares deeply about people and understands the positive impact the finance function can have on company culture.”
Since joining Veeva in 2012, O’Connor has grown the company’s finance department from three to over 120 people and now manages a global team. She played a major role in building out Veeva’s finance team in preparation for the IPO process to become a public company. In her current role, O’Connor leads Veeva’s audit committee meetings and is responsible for supporting senior management around the quarterly earnings and reporting cycles.
“I am excited to join Checkr and its team of knowledgeable, hard-working individuals, and looking forward to furthering their mission of unlocking employment opportunities through technology,” said O’Connor. “As a company that has already developed tremendously through customer growth, acquisitions, and partnerships, I know expansion and innovation will remain a focus in the future.”
Before joining Veeva, O’Connor worked for KPMG, Tishman Speyer, and PeopleSoft. After moving on from PeopleSoft, she held management roles at Cholestech and FormFactor and an accounting director role at Thoratec.
O’Connor earned a bachelor’s of science in business administration from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, where she studied accounting and finance.
