Representing the world's top private cloud companies, Checkr claims a spot for the sixth consecutive year.

SAN FRANCISCO (August 8, 2023) – For the sixth year in a row, Checkr has been named to the Forbes 2023 Cloud 100, the definitive ranking of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world, published by Forbes in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures.

In its eighth consecutive year, the Cloud 100 reviews submissions from hundreds of cloud startups and private companies. The Cloud 100 evaluation process involves ranking companies across four factors: market leadership (35%), estimated valuation (30%), operating metrics (20%), and people & culture (15%).

“Six years on the Forbes Cloud 100 signifies our consistent dedication to innovation and delighting our customers,” said Checkr co-founder and CEO Daniel Yanisse. “This recognition is a testament to our hardworking team and focus on elevating the background check experience.”

“The companies of the Cloud 100 list represent the best and brightest private companies in this crucial tech sector,” said Kenrick Cai, the Forbes editor of the Cloud 100. “This year’s companies had to react rapidly to AI’s sweeping impact while contending with a market pullback. Their resilience puts them in elite company. Congratulations to each of the 2023 Cloud 100 honorees and the 20 Rising Stars who are showing early potential to one day join their ranks.”

Over the last year, Checkr has been steadfast in providing our customers with the cutting-edge technology they need to deliver exceptional candidate experiences and to build diverse and high-performing teams. Most notably, Checkr launched product innovations like I-9 verification and Assess Standard, advancing speed and fairness in the hiring process.

The Checkr team has also made progress on our mission to build a fairer future through product innovations like the Fair Chance Dashboard, which makes it easier for customers to implement and benchmark fair chance hiring efforts at their organizations. Internally, Checkr launched an apprenticeship program to offer job experience and skills development to justice-impacted individuals, preparing them for future employment in the tech industry. The nine apprentices in the inaugural 12-month program joined Checkr in July 2023 and have been placed across the organization in verticals like customer success, sales, marketing, legal/policy, IT, people and talent teams.

Earning a place on the Forbes Cloud 100 list for the sixth time is a significant acknowledgment of Checkr's leadership in the industry and a reflection of the team's sustained commitment.

“This year’s Cloud 100 list is one of the most dynamic in history. While the industry faced macro headwinds, the 2023 Cloud 100 winners displayed the innovation and resilience of the cloud economy and the combination of growth and efficiency that prove the power of the cloud business model. 95% of the honorees are forecasted to reach Centaur status—$100 million of annual recurring revenue—by the end of the year,” said Mary D’Onofrio, partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. “It is further exciting to see so many honorees at the forefront of the AI revolution, which we believe will continue to transform the cloud and propel the next wave of growth for many of this year’s winners.”
