Checkr Editorial

Checkr is delighted to be recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Startup Employers 2022.

Overwhelming, Checkrs cite the mission of fair chance hiring as a key reason they choose to work at Checkr. Checkrs from c-suite level executives to individual contributors are motivated to build a better future by designing technology to create opportunities for all, and we each have the chance to make a difference every day through our work. The sense of purpose permeates through the organization and creates a unique feeling of community.

That’s why we are so excited to announce that Checkr has been awarded on America’s Best Startup Employers 2022 presented by Forbes and Statista Inc. The recognition highlights Checkr’s ongoing commitment to support employees and make Checkr the best place to work.

Employee experience has always been paramount to business success, and within the last two years, employers have been forced to rethink what employer excellence looks like. The key for Checkr? Listening to employees.

Through regular surveying, Checkr collects insight and feedback from employees on what’s working well and what needs improvement. Our leadership teams then dig into the feedback and report back on their findings. This feedback loop has been critical to our success in navigating the new world of work and providing an excellent employee experience.

So what makes Checkr one of America’s Best Startup Employers?

Forbes determined their list based on an innovative methodology evaluating employer excellence in three ways:

  • Employee Satisfaction: extensive research was conducted on ‘Average Length of Employment’ and ‘Online Employer Reviews’.
  • Employer Reputation: company specific information was algorithmically extracted from social media channels such as news sites, micro-blogs, blogs and social networks.
  • Company Growth: comprehensive evaluations of ‘Website Traffic’, ‘Headcount Growth Rates’, and ‘Industry-Referenced Job Openings’.

Checkrs bring our mission and products to life. From engineers to marketers, every employee works to empower our customers to hire faster—and fairer.

In the last year, we have added additional programs to support our team through the uncertainties we’re all experiencing, from managing remote and hybrid work, navigating homeschooling, to building an inclusive culture that prioritizes belonging. These programs and initiatives directly impact our day to day lives, making it easier to thrive at work and accomplish our mission of building a fairer future.
